Yisrael Goren

Founder and Director of Makom Balev, NCSY in Israel

Yisrael Goren received a B.ED from Herzog College, as well as a B.A. in Geography and Land of Israel studies from Bar Ilan University. He has extensive experience as an educational coordinator for group seminars and as a certified tour guide. In 2001, Yisrael joined the OU family as founder and director of Makom Balev/NCSY. Under his directorship, Makom Balev has grown into an educational youth movement serving thousands of youth in development towns throughout Israel. Prior to his position at the OU, Yisrael was the director of the Midrasha for Torah, Zionism and Society in Ramot Shapiro.

Yisrael lives with his wife and seven children in Mevo Choron, a yishuv located near Modiin, in the Mateh Binyamin Region
