Lev Yehudi Yisraeli

Lev Yehudi’s mission is to create renewed awareness and exposure to Jewish heritage in Israel’s secular communities. Its mission is to create opportunities for spiritual exploration, to bring Israelis closer to each other and to their shared traditions.

Framework
Lev Yehudi encourages relationships between secular and religious Jews through the establishment of concentrated groups, or garinim, of religious families within secular communities. The members of the garin are available as neighbors, friends and mentors. Their community activism coupled with their traditional lifestyle infuses a Jewish spirit into the community’s day-to-day life.

Education
Lev Yehudi makes Jewish heritage learning available to community members of all ages. The program offers a variety of classes and chavruta programs in the school system, on college campuses and in downtown centers for adult education. Each garin establishes a Torah study center, a base for Jewish education which invigorates the spiritual environment of the community.

Jewish Identity
Lev Yehudi’s Zehut program is an innovative educational program whose goal is to strengthen Jewish identity in the secular school system. Zehut provides hands-on learning experiences which challenge students to think, feel and connect with their Jewish identity.

Jewish Culture
Lev Yehudi aims to infuse Jewish values into the cultural climate of secular communities. Its cultural events center on the Jewish lifecycle and tradition, and bring a fresh, value-oriented perspective to the city’s cultural traditions.

Social Outreach
Lev Yehudi is committed to and implements the Jewish tradition of chessed alongside its educational and cultural initiatives. Its programs reach out to children and families at risk providing emotional and psychological support and guidance.
