Our Mission
Makom Balev, styled after NCSY in the United States, embraces and inspires youth in Israel’s periphery with a commitment to support and encourage the next generation of young Israelis.

Our Premise
Makom Balev literally means “a place in the heart” and at Makom Balev, everyone has a place in our heart. The youth group is geared towards Israeli teens and pre-teens from 5th grade through high school. It is built on acceptance and reaches out to Israeli youth with an open heart and an open mind. 

Jewish Values
Makom Balev youth encounter Jewish values and heritage, supportive peer groups and opportunities to dream high and reach high.  We aspire to instill a generation of Israeli youth with a sense of belonging, with a sense of commitment and responsibility to the Jewish community and Israeli society.

Support and Guidance
For many youth, Makom Balev is the only place they can turn for emotional support and guidance. For them, Makom Balev is a place to find someone to talk to, to find meaning, to laugh and relax. Our staff extend their support through the transition to adulthood, offering guidance for young adults as they enter the army or National Service, train for a profession and stand under the chuppah.
