Last issue’s (Vayeishev) TTriddles:

[1] A wise child counts them this week
A wise child = YELED CHACHAM = 10+30+4 + 8+20+40 = 112 which is the number of p’sukim in Vayeishev, so that is what a wise child can count this week.
[2] Chag Samei’ach from Yaakov to Yisrael
Another gimatriya-based TTriddle. YAAKOV = 10+70+100+2 = 182. YISRAEL = 10+300+200+1+30 = 541. From YAAKOV to YISRAEL - i.e. to get from 182 to 541, you must add 359. CHAG SAMEI’ACH = 8+3 + 300+40+8 = 359.
[3] Kayin, Avraham, Yitzchak, Yaakov, Yosef, Lot, Yishmael, Eisav
VAYEISHEV, and he settled… The word occurs 95 times in Tanach. Too many times for a good TTriddle. In the Torah, it occurs 25 times. Still too many. 17 times in B’reishit. That too would be too many times, but there are multiples. All those in B’reishit who VAYEISHEVed (do you have children or grandchildren who conjugate Hebrew verbs as English words? Like - who are we ZAMINing to the party? I S’PORed them) are listed in the TTriddle presentation. Kayin in Eretz Nod, Avra(ha)m in Eilonei Mamrei and B’eir Sheva. Lot on the mountain and then in a cave. Yishmael in Midbar Paran (no connection to Ramot Eshkol). Yitzchak: B’eir Lachai Ro’i, G’rar, and Nachal G’rar. Eisav in Har Sei’ir. Yaakov at Lavan’s, in K’naan, in Egypt, and on his bed. Yosef in Egypt.
[4] all he has equals three garments
VAYAAZOV, and Potifar placed in Yosef’s hands KOL ASHER LO, all that he had. The word VAYAAZOV occurs three more times in Vayeishev. Each time, the object that was left in someone’s hand was Yosef’s garment in the hand of Potifar’s wife. (That’s once when he fled from her seduction, and twice more in her telling everyone about it.)
[5] Yitzchak : ? :: Yosef : Brothers
Yitzchak is to what as Yosef is to his Brothers? There probably are more than one correct answer here, but the intended one is based on VAYKANU… and they were jealous… In Vayeishev, we find that the brothers were jealous of Yosef (in addition to hating him). Back in Tol’dot, it is the P’LISHTIM that are jealous of Yitzchak and the wealth he had acquired.

[6] He’s continuously mixed up
RETZEF is a continuous run of something. Mixed up is a code for rearranging the letters. Do that with RETZEF and you get PERETZ, who was probably not continuously mixed-up except in a TTriddle-sense.
[7] Vayeishev’s connection to Elul and Yamim Nora’im
This was a straightforward question rather than a real TTriddle. The connection is the haftara where we find the pasuk that describes the one of the functions of the Shofar: “Shall a shofar be blown in the city, and the people not tremble?” (Amos 3:6).
[8] He crossed it last week, but it occurs again this week (sort of)
Yaakov crossed the YABOK in Parshat Vayishlach. YABOK occurs again as the SIMAN for the number of p’sukim in Vayeishev - 112, the gimatriya of YABOK.
[9] This week’s connection to the call up pasuk
The answer was given away at the end of the Lead Tidbit, if one made the connection. The introduction to calling people to the Torah ends with the pasuk that is said by the gabbai as well as everyone in the congregation: V’ATEM HAD’VEIKIM BASHEM ELOKEICHEM CHAYIM KUL’CHEM HAYOM. The gimatriya of this pasuk is 981, the TT issue number of the week.
[10] Yehuda, Ido, R’u'el, Shimon
Yehuda had a son named ZERACH. So did Eisav’s son R’u'el. And so did Yaakov’s son Shimon. And so did IDO (mentioned in Divrei HaYamim), a descendant of Levi’s son Gershon.
[11] The Bard’s Camillo
The Bard is a nickname of William Shakespeare. Shakespeare wrote 37 plays (that’s the official accepted number, but there are several disputes as to what to include and what not to), one of which is “The Winter Tale”. In that play, Camillo is cupbearer to Leontes the King of Sicily and Polixenes King of Bohemia. His counterpart in Vayeishev is the forgetful SAR HAMASHKIM.
[12] The MazalPic
In the Chanuka pull-out section, there was a Word of the Month box for Shabbat Parshat Mikeitz - Chanuka. The content of that box is repeated in this week’s TT. The MazalPic has been changed. Full explanation as to why, next week. In the meantime, perhaps someone can solve it/them (decipher it/them). Perhaps.
