Hundreds of actors, directors, writers sent to prison or fired, unable to find work, many of them Jewish, fired by Jewish studio owners and Jewish producers. Writers had others submit their work for them as ‘fronts’. Film returns to that time of hysteria, when many Jews believed “Commie hunters” went after Hollywood because it was run by Jews. Zero Mostel, Herschel Bernardi, Woody Allen each brilliant in this excellent, meaningful drama.
