Yuvernat (Yubi), Habetnash (Eden) and Alitash (Ronit) came to Israel from Ethiopia as children and went through, along with their families and communities, all the crises of integration and intercultural transition that Israeli life dictates.
Some twenty-five years later, after each of them has put down roots in Israel and succeeded in her profession, and following the Ethiopian community’s outburst of rage in the riots of the summer of 2015, the directors of “Shmagelotch” document how the protagonists deal with Israeli society, with the Ethiopian community, and, for the first time, with themselves… — with Demsky Noam.
