The Beit Hamikdash was far more than a building, it was meant to shape the spiritual, emotional, and communal life of Am Yisrael. But what was its purpose? What role did it play in a person's relationship with Hashem, and what might it have felt like to experience it firsthand?
In this course, we will explore the goals and vision of the Beit Hamikdash, the meaning behind the korbanot, and the life experiences that brought people to offer them. We will journey through the rhythms of the year, from the excitement and unity of the regalim to the personal moments of gratitude, growth, and return reflected in each korban. Along the way, we will examine what it was like to ascend to Yerushalayim, what women experienced in the Beit Hamikdash, and how the Mikdash touched every aspect of Jewish life.
Together, we will move beyond abstract concepts and historical facts to bring the Beit Hamikdash alive and discover what its messages can mean for our lives today.
This four-week lecture series will trace the dramatic summer transition from devastation to hope, through the study of the special haftarot chosen for this time period. We will delve into the prophetic poetry of impending destruction and pain, then transition to the promise of ultimate salvation, studying the texts and commentaries through the lens of history and their contemporary relevance.
Session 1: The Sacred Symphony of the Leviim
Learn about the musical instruments and daily Tehillim of the Beit HaMikdash.
Hands-on experience: Live clarinet performance of Temple melodies.
Session 2: Mysteries of the Ketoret
Explore the ingredients and deeper meaning of the Ketoret.
Hands-on workshop: Create your own Havdalah spice pouch using Ketoret herbs.
Session 3: Rosh Chodesh Old City Walking Tour
Tour the outer gates of the Temple Mount, located inside the Muslim Quarter (we will be accompanied by a guard) and experience a breathtaking panoramic view from the 'Beit HaTzalem' rooftop.
Session 4: Woven with Devotion: Women's Sacred Artistry
Discover women's contributions to the Mikdash through weaving, dyes, and the Parochet.
Hands-on workshop: Try traditional weaving techniques and create a small keepsake.

Chana Deutsch is a Tanach educator who also serves as a Temple Institute scholar. She is a relationship expert and coach who specializes in helping women in relationships (and not-yet-in relationships) foster the connection, intimacy and love they desire in their marriage and in their home. Chana teaches down-to-earth strategies designed for women to get in touch with, and bring forth, their authentic and vulnerable feminine self.
Course: The Haftorah Journey: From Churban To Nechama

Leah Feinberg is a master educator, who taught at the Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls in Hewlett for twenty-one years, also serving as Tanach Department Chairperson and New Teacher Mentor. She was a popular maggedet shiur in the Woodmere community, where she taught a weekly Navi shiur for women. Since making aliyah in 2017, Leah has taught at Michlalah and the Emek Learning Center, and is a frequent lecturer at Kehillat HaElah in Ramat Beit Shemesh and at the OU Israel Center, where she has lectured at Yemei Iyun, the ALIT Summer Learning Program both in person and on Zoom, and at a Beit Midrash series of classes. Leah has been a regular lecturer in every Torat Imecha Nach Yomi cycle.

Tzipora Pilz is a well-known lecturer on the Bet HaMikdash. She lives in an old stone house on Har HaZeitim (the and is part of the group of women called, “Nashim Lema’an HaMikdash", an organization that raises awareness about the Mikdash and the Har Ha’bayit.Tziporah is also a tour guide. She leads tours on Har HaZeitim which overlooks the Temple Mount and is home to the ancient 3000 year old Jewish cemetery.

We encourage women outside of Yerushalayim to participate as a community. Learning together creates a richer and more enjoyable experience, and also significantly reduces the cost for each participant.
Bringing the program to your community is simple. All you need is a group of approximately 7–10 women (minimum), a venue (such as a shul, matnas, or private home), a screen and projector or white wall, and a reliable Wi-Fi connection.
The cost is remarkably affordable:
* 30 NIS per participant for one full course (package of 4 sessions)
* 80 NIS per participant for entire program (all courses)

Unfortunately, because you will be participating via Zoom, your experience will be somewhat more limited. However, you will still be able to benefit and learn through her shiurim and presentations. Please note that any activities that require physical materials will only be available to those attending in person. If at all possible, we highly encourage you to join us for the tiyul, as it is a unique and meaningful part of the program that cannot be replicated online.
Yes, they will all be recorded through Zoom and available exclusively for anyone who registered for the course.
Great Question! It is actually quite easy to access. The house is on the road leading down to the Kotel. There are no alleyways or stairs involved. If you take the 38 or 2 it will bring you to the old city parking and then its a short walk downhill or a cab can take you straight to the house.
