A visit to Qumran and Masada with Guide Rabbi Alan Haber

During the final decades of the Second Temple era, Jews developed many new philosophies; some of them still exist today, while others disappeared.  The debates themselves were sometimes fruitful, but ultimately led to destruction.

Visit Kaser al-Yahud – crossing and entry point into Canaan by B’nei Yisrael from the Jordan River

Qumran – remains of a fascinating Second-Temple era settlement where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found

Masada – scene of the final battle in the Great Revolt against the Romans
