What better way is there to prepare for Rosh Hashana than with a tour of the Old City of Yerushalayim followed by dinner, music and inspirational talks culminating with a blessing for the New Year from Rav Shmuel Eliyahu(Chief Rabbi of Tzfat) overlooking Har Habayit?
120 OU Israel Youth Centers teens from Jack E. Gindi Oraita Clubs throughout Israel – including Akko, Teveria, Netanya, Sderot, Maaleh Adumim and Rechovot – came to Yerushalyim for the annual David & Lil Shafran Educational Selichot Yerushayim Trip. The prorgam started with a tour of the Old City led by tour guide actors, followed by davening at the Kotel. After dinner overlooking the Kotel and Har Habayit at Aish HaTorah, the teens were treated to an inspirational concert by The Zula band and a powerful talk by Harel Chetzroni (Founder of The Pearl & Harold Jacobs Outreach Zula Center) where he emphasized that each and every person is a diamond placed on earth by G-d. Before heading back home, the group gathered on the roof of Aish HaTorah where Rav Shmuel Eliyahu infused them with a message of Kedusha and blessings for a good and productive year.
